Indian surgeon, Surinder R. Rambam, has been arrested for removing a cyst without a doctor’s consent, a court in New Delhi said on Wednesday.
Mr Rambams alleged that he was working on his chest surgery in May when he removed a cystic-sized cyst, which was removed without a diagnosis.
“I had to go for two days to the hospital to get a diagnosis from my surgeon.
I was told it was a cysts, and he removed it without any medical reason,” said Mr Rambamas lawyer, Raju Ramaswamy.
The court said Mr Ramasws hospitalisation would not be taken into consideration, the BBC reported.
The case came to light when a woman lodged a complaint about a surgery to remove a cytic cyst in November last year.
A doctor had told her that the cyst was a benign cyst that had come from a cytoplasmic tube.
The woman, who had been given treatment at the hospital, had complained of chest pain.
The doctor told the police that he had treated the cysts without a physical examination.
Mr Ramasww was arrested on Wednesday by the police for “abusive” conduct.
