BTS singer Jang Soo Hyun has undergone plastic surgery in South Korea, the media reported.
The 17-year-old singer who has a reputation for getting “over it” in front a crowd of millions was pictured in full body make-up in front her fans, many of whom were holding signs to demand her to go topless.
Jang, who has had a string of controversies over the years, was seen on Thursday in a South Korean hotel in Seoul’s Gyeongbokgung district with her husband, Kim Tae Hoon, with her head held high as her shoulders hunched and her left hand resting on her knee.
She was dressed in a dark green tuxedo jacket and matching skirt.
The South Korean news site Ilgan Sports reported that Jang had undergone the surgery on Saturday.
Kim Tae was not seen with the singer at the hotel, but a picture posted on Instagram showed a smiling Kim T, accompanied by his wife and Jang, in front the hotel’s balcony.
Jangs popularity in South Korean pop culture has seen her go from a minor-league pop star to one of the most popular acts in the country.
Her song “Wish You Were Here” went platinum in the US and hit number one in the UK, where she is currently touring.
Her latest single “Darling Nikki” is also a hit in the United States.
Her latest album, “Lovesong”, is expected to be released in September.
In 2016, she received the prestigious Korean Musicians Award from the Korea Recording Academy, a prestigious award for singers who have made significant contributions to the music industry.
She said she had received the award because she wanted to “show that everyone has the right to perform without pressure and to celebrate the beauty of women”.
