Weird Al Yankovics life is a strange one.
The Grammy-winning songwriter and actor is often described as a musician but his life has been defined by substance abuse.
In 2012, Yankowski, who has been in rehab for his addiction, was arrested for cocaine possession in San Francisco and charged with possession with intent to distribute.
He was sentenced to five years in prison.
He is still on parole and is scheduled to be released in 2021.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2017, he said he didn’t want to be an addict.
“I just want to keep going with what I’m doing.
I don’t want this to get in the way of what I want to do.
It’s a lifestyle.
I just want my life to continue to work for me,” he said.”
There’s nothing that I’ve done, in my life, that I dont regret.
I’m the happiest guy in the world.
Its not about me, its about how I feel.”
He added: “I feel like Im doing something right.
Ive done something.
I havent done anything wrong.
I want people to know that I am still a person.”‘
I don’t know who to trust’When asked about his addiction issues, Yanks life is often overshadowed by his music.
He said that he had to change how he spoke about his addictions because he felt that he couldn’t be open about it.
“The thing about being an addict is you cant be honest about it,” he told ET. “It doesnt help.”
“You donre talking about your life, you donts know who youre dealing with, youve got a problem, you have a problem,” he added.
Yankowski has also made headlines in the past for other issues, including his involvement in a fight with rapper Eminem.
In a video posted on YouTube in 2016, the actor said he has been battling mental illness.
“If I could take a pill right now, I would probably take it right now.
I have to take it.
I would,” he says.
“I’m not in control of my mental health, but I am controlling my life.
I am the reason why Id be here.””
I’m just trying to do my best and I know I can, but itll be up to the people around me.
Theyll have to decide for themselves,” he concluded.
